Privacy Policy

Effective date: [DATE]

This Privacy Policy explains what information FoxRevive collects, why, and what choices you have. FoxRevive is made by Jason Fox dba FoxZoneIT, a sole proprietor based in Texas, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). It covers the FoxRevive app for Windows, the FoxRevive website, and FoxRevive subscriptions.

The short version

1. Information we collect

A. When you buy a subscription

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, billing country and address, payment details, and your IP address (for tax and fraud prevention). We never see or store your full card number. Lemon Squeezy shares with us the order data we need to run your subscription, such as your name, email, country, what you bought, your subscription status and renewal date, and your license key. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy explains how it handles your information.

B. When the app checks your license

When you activate FoxRevive, and after that each time FoxRevive starts and before each scheduled tune-up (when you're online), the app sends this to Lemon Squeezy's license servers:

Lemon Squeezy sends back whether the license is valid, its status, your plan, its renewal or end date, and the email address on your order. Like any internet connection, Lemon Squeezy's servers also see your IP address. We use this information only to check that your license is valid, count your devices against your device limit, and let you deactivate a PC. You can free up a device slot at any time by clicking MANAGE LICENSE at the bottom left of the FoxRevive window and choosing "Deactivate this PC".

C. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to attach, such as a screenshot or a log file.

D. When you visit our website

Our website doesn't have accounts or sign-up forms. The "Buy" buttons simply take you to Lemon Squeezy's checkout, and the customer portal link takes you to Lemon Squeezy's portal. Our website is built and hosted with GoDaddy (Airo), which may collect standard technical information like your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, and may use cookies. See "Cookies" below.

2. Information that stays on your PC

FoxRevive keeps these files on your own computer, in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\FoxRevive folder:

These files stay on your PC. They are never uploaded or sent to us automatically. They only leave your PC if you choose to send them to us, for example when asking for help.

If you set up scheduled tune-ups (Apex), FoxRevive also creates a Windows scheduled task named "FoxRevive Scheduled Tune-up" in Windows Task Scheduler on your PC. It holds your schedule and tells Windows to run FoxRevive at those times. The schedule is stored only on your PC (in settings.ini and the scheduled task) and is never sent to us. Logs of scheduled runs stay on your PC like any other FoxRevive log.

You can delete them at any time by deleting the %LOCALAPPDATA%\FoxRevive folder. If you delete the license cache, you'll just need to enter your license key again. To remove a schedule, turn it off in FoxRevive or delete the "FoxRevive Scheduled Tune-up" task in Windows Task Scheduler.

FoxRevive does not upload your files, your browser history, or a list of your programs. When FoxRevive clears temporary files and browser page caches (with "Close browsers and clean them"), or browsing history, the downloads list, tabs, top sites, and Firefox saved form entries (only if you say yes to the optional deeper clean), that happens only on your PC. Cookies, saved passwords, logins, bookmarks, and browser extensions/add-ons are never deleted.

The read-only Preview scan reads file sizes, Windows Update status, Windows restart flags in the registry, and disk health on your PC only. Nothing from the Preview scan is sent anywhere.

3. What we don't do

4. Microsoft and Windows

Some steps use Windows' own services, which connect to Microsoft's servers:

Those connections are made by Windows, not by us. We don't receive the information Windows sends. It is covered by Microsoft's privacy statement.

5. How we use information

We use the limited information we have to:

We don't send marketing emails unless you've agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

6. Who we share information with

We only share information with service providers that help us run FoxRevive, and only what they need:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or if FoxRevive is sold or transferred. If FoxRevive is sold, this Privacy Policy will continue to protect your information.

Launch notifications: if you use the "Get notified at launch" form on our website, we receive the email address (and name, if you give one) you enter, plus your IP address for spam protection. We use it only to tell you when FoxRevive is available, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

7. Cookies on our website

Our website may use cookies, which are small files stored by your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others may help us understand how the site is used. We do not use analytics or marketing cookies.

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline cookies that aren't strictly needed. You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. Lemon Squeezy's checkout and customer portal pages use their own cookies, which are covered by Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

8. How long we keep information

9. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

Email foxzoneit@outlook.com to make a request. We may need to confirm it's really you, usually by replying from the email address you used to buy. We'll respond within 30 days. Some information, like purchase records, may have to be kept for legal or tax reasons. If so, we'll tell you. Because Lemon Squeezy holds most purchase information, we may also point you to Lemon Squeezy or pass your request on to them.

You can also update your card, download invoices, and cancel any time in the Lemon Squeezy "My Orders" customer portal at the customer portal link on our website.

10. If you're in the EU, UK, or a similar region (GDPR)

For information we control, we rely on these legal reasons:

You also have the right to object to or limit how we use your information, to get a portable copy, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Your information is handled in the United States. Our providers use legal safeguards for international transfers. For your purchase, Lemon Squeezy is responsible for its own handling of your information as merchant of record.

11. If you're in California or another US state with privacy laws

These laws may not apply to a business our size, but we follow their main rules anyway. In the last 12 months we have collected: identifiers (like name, email, IP address, license key, and computer name), commercial information (what you bought), and internet activity on our website (through cookies). We collect them for the reasons in Section 5 and share them only as described in Section 6.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't use sensitive personal information to infer things about you. You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your information. You can use an authorized agent to make a request. We will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

12. Children

FoxRevive is not meant for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under [13 / 16 - Jason to choose]. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

13. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. License checks use encrypted connections (HTTPS). The license cache on your PC is encrypted with Windows' built-in protection. The app doesn't contain any secret keys to our accounts. Payment details are handled by Lemon Squeezy, not us. Still, no method of storing or sending data is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee perfect security.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date. If a change is important, we'll also try to tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
